Responding to God’s Gifts
~ Calendar ~
Sunday, October 11 – A
day of reflection and celebration
Beginning at our 9:00 a.m. and 11:00
a.m. worship
service, we reflect on God’s blessings for each of us individually and
as a congregation. At 10:00a.m. between services we will enjoy brunch
and fellowship. (click
here for more info). This also marks the start of a three-week period
of prayerful reflection for each of us individually and for our families, as
we seek God’s will regarding our commitment of time, talents, and treasure
to support Christ’s ministry here at Glen Avon. Individual Talent/Interest
surveys and pledge cards will be mailed to church members during the week of
October 12. Please complete and return then by mail, drop them off at the
church office, or bring them with you to the worship service on Sunday,
November 1.
Sunday, November 1 – A day of
commitment
At both
worship services, we will join together in making a grateful recommitment of
our faith and individual commitments of time, talents, and treasure.
“Rejoice
always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” I Thessalonians 5:16-18

We need YOU!!

Bulletin team volunteers
needed: We have some vacancies on our third and fourth Fridays
of the month. The time commitment is approximately half an hour for one
Friday a month beginning at 10 AM. Please contact Linda at the church
office if you can assist us!

Office help needed
for Monday through Wednesday mornings, November 23, 24, and 25

. Hours would be from 9-noon. The
office will be closed Friday, November 20th
& 27th. (Linda will be on her yearly “pilgrimage” to Colorado
to be with her family for Thanksgiving )
Contact the church office if you can fill in on any of those days to
help field phone calls.

Mission opportunity!
The Deacons are looking for a CHUM delegate. Would you be
a voice to the CHUM Assembly and represent Glen Avon? If so, speak with
Ellen Altman or Robyn.
