Mission of the Month

MISSION IM POSSIBLE

Your mission, should you chose to accept, is to financially, prayerfully and caringly support the Glen Avon Youth Mission Trip to Denver, Colorado, July 5 - 12, 2008, under the administration of DOOR (“an organization devoted to serve groups and individuals in missions, service, and learning experiences with year around full-time staff in amazingly unique cities”).

Your first assignment is to be in prayer for and with the 16 youth and 5 adult volunteers as they continue to plan for the trip, travel to and from Denver, labor in service to those in need, share God’s love for all creation, and share their faith with those with whom they labor and serve.

Your second assignment is to financially support the Glen Avon Youth Mission Trip to Denver. Checks may be placed in the Offering during Sunday Worship Services or sent to the church office. Check should be written out to Glen Avon Presbyterian Church with a notation “Youth Mission Trip” written on the memo line. In addition to transportation expenses, the cost per participant is $275, which covers food, lodging, materials and administration.

Your third and last assignment for the “Mission of the Month” is to provide “care packages” for the 21 volunteers going to Denver. Homemade rolls, bars, cookies, breakfast snacks, energy bars, fruit, etc., would be greatly appreciated for the long bus ride to Denver (leaving Saturday noon and arriving late Sunday). Additionally, personal notes offering encouragement, appreciation and maybe a joke or two will be collected prior to departure from Duluth and distributed during the week to the volunteers.

all things are “POSSIBLE”, with God.
