Come, O Come, Emmanuel by Rev. Robyn Weaver
Come, O come, Emmanuel. We your people await your advent among us.
Come to those who suffer, who are sick, who have given up hope for helaing and restoration.
Come to those families who--this December--suffer from deprivation and cold, or who are torn asunder by family strife, war, violence, or addiction.
Come to those who have difficulty believing, who pray, but wonder if anyone hears, who hear and see the witness of the church and are not moved.
Emmanuel, we languish here in exile, feeling far from You and your love. Come to us, abide with us, bring us home, lead us from sorrow to rejoicing, that we may be saved from our sin. O, that we might be found by your grace!
O, that we might come home!
Come, O come, Emmanuel.
